Traffic Safety Coordinator
With the community's participation, the traffic safety concerns will be addressed. With your help, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Freedom Division can prevent traffic related injuries and or deaths. If you have an emergency and need immediate assistance please continue to use 911.

Safe Kids
The West Service Area at 4150 Wilkinson Blvd ia a designated Safe Kids Child Safety Seat Checking Station. Child Safety Seat Inspections are conducted on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 2PM until 6PM. Go to the Safe Kids website at www.safekidscharmeck.org for any cancellations or changes to this schedule.
Bike Patrol
Two officers conduct bike patrol in Freedom Division on a full-time basis. Generally, bike patrols operate in a manner that facilitates crime suppression and apprehension of suspects in crime hot spots and drug market areas. Overall, 7 officers are trained and equipped to operate police bikes on each of the three shifts. There is no set schedule for bike patrol as the dates and times vary based upon the problem to be addressed. School Resource Officers
School Resource officers work closely with our district middle and high schools, and they also make presentations to elementary school students and at community programs.
