About Us

The Freedom Division comprises 46.1 square miles of residential, industrial, and commercial properties. There are 81 Officers, 8 Sergeants, 1 Investigative Technician and a Captain assigned to the division.

The division is divided into three response areas and operates three standard work shifts with overlapping morning and evening shifts.  The majority of officers are assigned to these shifts, although the division also operates squads of Community Coordinators and School Resource Officers.

The office is located at 4150 Wilkinson Blvd.,  at the corner of Wilkinson Boulevard and Morris Field Drive. The facility also houses other city services, including Utilities, Animal Licensing, Police Records, Police Property, City Revenue, Neighborhood Development, Community Improvement, Passenger Vehicle for Hire and the Mecklenburg County Tax Office.

There is about 31,000 square feet of shared space, which includes the lobby and a 100-person conference center.  Primarily designed for tenant programming, the conference center is also available for use by the public for special meetings and events.  The building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
