Suspect in Robbery of Elderly Woman Arrested

Adrienne Patrice Johnson was arrested and charged with Common Law Robbery and Felony Breaking and Entering on April 31, 2008, for an offense which she committed on April 24, 2008. The victim, an elderly female, reported that a woman came to the door of her residence and asked to use her phone. The victim allowed the woman inside and escorted her to the phone. The woman then knocked the victim to the floor, ransacked her room and fled with the victim's money.

Robbery detectives on that day signed warrants on Adrienne Patrice Johnson. Ms. Johnson was arrested on March 31, 2008 and is currently in the Mecklenburg County Jail under a $42,500.00 bond.

This is Adrienne Johnson's 53rd arrest in Mecklenburg County.

Adrienne Johnson had just been released from jail on the day prior to this robbery for numerous larceny charges for identical offenses. She had been arrested on March 28, 2008 and was released April 23rd on a $62,500.00 bond. Those crimes are listed below.

  • On March 1, 2008, Ms. Johnson knocked on the door of a residence on Keswick  Ave occupied by 73 yr old female. Ms. Johnson asked to use the phone. She then grabbed the victim's purse and ran. She later returned and stole the victim's car using the keys in the purse.
  • On February 25, 2008, Ms. Johnson knocked on the door of a residence occupied by a 66 yr. old female on Barfield Dr and asked to use the phone. After she left, the victim noticed her checkbook missing. The suspect had written numerous checks on the victim's account.
  • On February 18, 2008, Ms. Johnson asked to use the phone at a residence on Morgan St. After the victim allowed her in she ran off with the victim's purse.
  • Also on February 18, 2008, at a residence on Senior Dr, a 70 yr. old victim gave Ms. Johnson a ride in her car after Johnson falsely identified herself as a neighbor's granddaughter. Johnson ran from the victim's vehicle with her purse.

  • On February 3, 2008, a 77 yr old victim reported Ms. Johnson asked to use her phone to call a family member, saying she lived next door on Tanglebrook Ln. The victim later found her wallet missing and her credit cards used.
  • On January 23, 2008, on Rollingwood Dr. a 64 yr old woman advised she allowed Ms. Johnson to use her phone to call the neighbor who wasn't answering her door and later found her wallet missing and unauthorized checks being written.
  • The same thing happened on Jan 10, 2008, to another 64 yr old on Crestridge Dr. Adrienne Johnson is pending court on all the above cases.
