CMPD recently participated in a live blogging session on WBTV during the November 18th 5 p.m. newscast. Gang of One staff, CMPD officers and CMS were able to engage in live conversations with parents, teachers, and kids who had questions about what type of gangs are in the area, the number of gang members and what to do if they suspect gang involvement or activity and how to intervene.
Participants included Rev. Fran Cook, director of Gang of One; Retired Detective Harold Jackson, Sergeant Donn Belz, Detective Chuck Hastings, Ray Wilson from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and WBTV reporter Molly Grantham.

The live blog-in newscast provided a valuable forum for CMPD to hear from the community and possibly receive leads on gang activity.
