CMPD's SWAT unit and the current class of officer candidates will be on hand at Sunday's Panthers game to help raise awareness of what SWAT does and benefit the United Way at the same time.
From 12:30-4:30 p.m., CMPD officers and recruits from the 152nd Recruit Class will staff a display of SWAT equipment and accept donations from fans to benefit the United Way. The display will be set up at the corner of Mint and Stonewall streets.
Major Dale Greene oversees SWAT and is this year's chairperson for the City employee's United Way Fund Drive. "We see this as a great opportunity to show people what we do and let them show some caring for all of the important United Way programs that will benefit from their donations."
