Providence Division officers responded to a call for service in reference to a residential burglary at 2301 Shade Valley Rd. Officers quickly confirmed that Mr. Hill and another unknown suspect had taken a television and two firearms from inside the residence. K-9 was immediately notified, responded to the scene, and tracked Mr. Hill to Chippendale Rd. Officers were able to recover the television in a nearby wooded area; however the weapons were not found. At this time, a resident advised officers that they saw an individual matching the suspect description enter an apartment at 1640 Chippendale Rd. SWAT officers arrived on scene, safely evacuated all of the residents inside of the apartment building, and set up containment of the immediate area.
SWAT Negotiators attempted verbal communication with Mr. Hill for approximately forty-five minutes encouraging him to comply; however he refused to comply and did not acknowledge communication. At this time, entry was made into the residence, a complete search was conducted, and Mr. Hill was taken into custody without further incident. In addition, Crime Scene Search recovered a weapon from inside the residence on Chippendale Rd.
