Providence Division Officer Makes Burglary Arrests
October 8, 2008

Providence Division officers arrested two subjects earlier today, Wednesday, October 8, 2008 for felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering

Officer Mike Haney of the Providence Division was working a burglary suppression patrol in the Dilworth neighborhood when he observed two suspicious persons on Springdale Avenue. Officer Haney approached both subjects and began speaking with them voluntarily.  The subjects had numerous digital cameras and personal electronics in their possession.  They were also carrying a backpack with an airport luggage tag on it. Officer Haney conducted an on scene investigation and was able to make contact with the person whose name was on the tag.  It was confirmed that no one should be in possession of that backpack.

Meanwhile, additional Providence Division officers responded to the victim's home in the 600 block of Olmsted Park Place and found evidence of a burglary.  At this time, the two subjects were taken into police custody and were charged with felony breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.
