Richard Barton Coleman was taken in to custody in a motel in Gastonia with the help of the Gastonia Police Department.

Robbery Detectives have identified the suspect who robbed the Wachovia Bank at 1625 South Blvd. on September 4, 2008.  Detectives have signed a warrant on Richard Barton Coleman, B/M, (DOB 3/8/1964) for Armed Robbery from Business.

CMPD Robbery detectives are seeking the community's assistance in identifying the suspect in the attached photos.

On September 4, 2008 at approximately 1:30 p.m. the suspect entered the Wachovia at 1625 South Boulevard and approached the victim teller.  The suspect handed the victim teller a note advised he had a gun and threatened to kill her if she gave him a dye pack.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect was described as a B/M, 35 - 45 yrs old, very dark skinned, bald or closely cut hair, approximately 6'2" - 6'3", thin build, 180 - 200 lbs, with a 2" - 3" jagged scar on his left cheek.  The suspect was last seen wearing a long white T-shirt, long dark shorts and dark shoes.
