CMPD detectives arrested Calvin E. Williams (DOB 01/27/1969) in connection with two recent bank robberies :
Wachovia Bank, 1500 Westinghouse Blvd., Charlotte on 08/20/2007 at 12:54 p.m.
First Charter Bank, Hwy 51 at Lawyers Rd., Mint Hill on 08/23/2007 at 4:45 p.m.
Detectives identified similarities in the way the robberies were committed and had similar descriptions of the suspect from both locations. CMPD detectives have been working with Mint Hill Police, the FBI and other jurisdictions to develop information regarding these crimes and the suspect. This investigation is continuing and could result in more charges as additional information is developed.
