Mock Crisis Drill March 13th at CPCC's Harper Campus

March 12, 2008

Tomorrow morning, Thursday, March 13, Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) in conjunction with the City Emergency Responders Planning Group will hold a mock crisis drill at CPCC's Harper Campus (315 West Hebron Street). The event is scheduled to better prepare for possible threats to campus security and to test the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Safety Plan.

The live exercise is being conducted during the College's Spring Break and will use student and staff volunteers in a simulated incident. In addition to CPCC, the exercise includes the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Charlotte Fire Department, Medic, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management and Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.

Hebron Street will be closed between Nations Ford Road and Arrowood Road from 0700-1700 hours. Please take Arrowood Road or Nations Ford Road as alternate routes. We will be sending a Geo-Notify to the neighborhoods in advance of the drill to alert them to the presence of large numbers of emergency vehicles and potential loud noises during the drill.
