Police Arrest Two Of Its "Most Wanted" Criminals

CMPD officers recently arrested two individuals from its "Most Wanted" list.  Rodney Alexander Reid was arrested after his release from Carolina's Medical Center on 01/31/2007.  Reid was admitted to Carolina's Medical Center as a result of a gun shot wound he received from an incident in Gastonia.  An anonymous caller reported that Reid was at the hospital.  Reid was placed on the 10 Most Wanted List on 01/18/2007.  He was wanted for Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Possession with Intent to Sale and Deliver Cocaine, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and several other traffic-related offenses.

Rodney Reid

Officers with the Street Crimes Division arrested Michael Deangelo Laney was arrested during a traffic stop on 01/31/2007.  Laney was placed on the 10 Most Wanted List on 01/18/2007.  He was wanted for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by Felon, Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property and Breaking and Entering with Force.  He was also charged with Possession with Intent to Sale and Delivery Cocaine and Resisting a Public Officer as a result of the traffic stop. 

Michael Laney

Reid and Laney are the 119th and 120th suspects arrested from the Ten Most Wanted List.  A total of 151 individuals have been placed on the list since its debut on April 5 of 2001.
