Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Detectives are currently conducting an investigation into a shooting which took place at 9401 Old Concord Road in the University City Division. The victim has been identified; pending family notification his name will be released. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 12:16 a.m.
University City Division officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment off Old Concord Road. When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. He was treated on scene and transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a male subject dressed in black, wearing a camouflage mask running from the scene.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit and the Firearms Unit are conducting a canvass of the neighborhood. Crime Scene Search is on scene as well, photographing the scene and collecting physical evidence.
