Old Concord Road Shooting Victim Dies

Case Update:  In reference to the shooting that occurred at 9401 Old Concord Road on June 25, 2009, the victim, Jamie Quindonte Thompson, died earlier today at Carolinas Medical Center.

In addition, the warrants that were originally signed on Thomas Aaron Whitlock for ADWIKSI have been upgraded to murder warrants.  The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) continues to actively search for Mr. Whitlock.  Mr. Whitlock should be considered armed and dangerous

Case Update:  Homicide Detectives have signed Assault with a deadly with intent to kill inflicting serious injury (ADWIKSI) warrants on Thomas Aaron Whitlock (DOB 11/09/1980) in reference to the shooting that occurred at 9401 Old Concord Road on June 25, 2009.  The victim, Jamie Quindonte Thompson, remains in critical condition at Carolina's Medical Center. 

Mr. Whitlock and his family live in Rock Hill, SC.  The Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) is actively searching for Mr. Whitlock and is working closely with the Rockhill Police Department and York County Sheriff's Department to locate him.  Mr. Whitlock should be considered armed and dangerous.

June 25, 2009

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Detectives are currently conducting an investigation into a shooting which took place at 9401 Old Concord Road in the University City Division.  The victim has been identified; pending family notification his name will be released.  The incident occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 12:16 a.m.

University City Division officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment off Old Concord Road.  When officers arrived on scene, they found the victim suffering from multiple gun shot wounds.  He was treated on scene and transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.  Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a male subject dressed in black, wearing a camouflage mask running from the scene.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit and the Firearms Unit are conducting a canvass of the neighborhood.  Crime Scene Search is on scene as well, photographing the scene and collecting physical evidence.
