Case Update:  After being interviewed by Homicide detectives at Police Headquarters; Scott Edmond Davis Sr. (DOB 6/141962) has been charged with the following:  one count of murder, three counts of attempted murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and one count of child neglect.  Mr. Davis Sr. is currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Detectives are currently investigating a shooting on Thornwood Rd., which left one female, Gabrille Kinard (DOB 10/7/1970), deceased, one male, Anjelo Kinard (DOB 11/23/1990), seriously injured, and a second female, Gabriella Kinard (DOB 12/2/1993), injured.  The incident occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 11:45 p.m. at 4808 Thornwood Rd., in the North Tryon Division.

North Tryon Division officers responded to a call for service in reference to a domestic disturbance in which three individuals had been shot.  When officers arrived on scene, they located Ms. Kinard, the deceased, lying on the front yard of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.  Mr. Kinard was located inside of the residence also suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The second female victim, Ms. Gabriella Kinard, ran from the scene as officers arrived.  She sustained minor injuries.  Medic arrived and began treating the victims. Gabrille Kinard was pronounced deceased by Medic and Medic transported the other two victims to Carolinas Medical Center.  Mr. Kinard is listed in critical condition and Gabriella Kinard is listed in stable condition.

Homicide and ADW detectives are canvassing the neighborhood, and Crime Scene Search units are on scene processing the crime scene for physical evidence.

Based on the preliminary investigation and witness statements, an incident occurred inside of the residence in which the suspect, Scott Edmond Davis Sr. (DOB 6/4/1962), shot and killed Gabrille Kinard.  Davis then shot Anjelo Kinard and then shot the second female victim, Gabriella Kinard, as she attempted to flee the residence with her five month old sister in her arms.  Homicide detectives are currently interviewing Mr. Davis at Police Headquarters.
