CMPD Partners with Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. & New Birth - Charlotte to Engage and Encourage Teens in North Carolina


In partnership with Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. and other local supporters, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department will take part in the For Teens expo, a multi-cultural educational conference designed to educate and empower teens and their parents. The expo will be held Aug. 15 at the Charlotte Convention Center from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The goals are to utilize powerful mentors and mediums to empower teens and parents to engage in smart decisions and healthy choices. CMPD officers, along with Chief Rodney Monroe, will participate in panel discussions on "Keeping Them Safe" which provides parents with insight on the latest cyber trends and cyber safety and "To Do or Not To Do (It)" session which teaches teens how to protect themselves from dating violence and bullies through candid talk, skits and role play.
