Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting of a male victim, Gilbert L. Crittendon (DOB 8/4/1984) at 4408 Eaves Ln. His family has been notified. The incident occurred on Thursday, September 11, 2008 shortly before 3:00 p.m.
North Tryon Division officers responded to a call for service in reference to one individual being shot at 4408 Eaves Ln. According to the witness, statements there were several males inside the residence when they heard a knock at the door and one of the males answered the door. It appears there was some type of physical struggle at the door, resulting in the victim being shot at least twice. Detectives believe this incident is not random and those involved know each other. In addition, detectives are currently speaking with a person of interest.
The victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center by Medic with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in serious, but stable condition.
