Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide Detectives are currently investigating a homicide at 7912 McGarry Trail. The incident occurred on Friday, January 2, 2009, at 11:11 p.m., in the Freedom Division.
Freedom Division officers responded to a call for service in reference to a shooting where one person had been shot. When officers arrived on scene they located a male victim, Louis A. Navarre (DOB 2/16/1969) lying in the driveway at 7916 McGarry Trail suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Pending family notification; the victim’s name will be released.
Homicide and ADW detectives are on scene canvassing the neighborhood and Crime Scene Search units are processing the scene for physical evidence.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim ran from his residence, which is located at 7912 McGarry Trail to a neighbor’s trying to get help after he was shot. According to witnesses, two black males and one black female were observed running from the victim’s residence immediately after the victim was shot. At this time, the motive for the shooting has not been determined.
