July 18, 2008

On July 2, 2008 at 2:52 p.m. an Asian male and a Black male knocked on the door of 3338 Bonneville Drive.  Mr. Paul Jarrell, 81 years of age, answered the door.  The two subjects forced their way into the house at gunpoint and knocked Mr. Jarrell to the ground.  Mrs. Marjorie Jarrell, 81 years of age, was moved to a bathroom by one of the suspects.  The suspects stole several items from the residence and fled.  Mrs. Marjorie Jarrell suffered an apparent heart attack due to the stress of the incident and was transported to Presbyterian Hospital.  Evidence indicates that this was not a random act.

On July 16, 2008, Marjorie Jarrell passed away.

On July 17 2008, CMPD Homicide Detectives arrested Y'Thim Kpor.  Mr. Kpor is an Asian male; his date of birth is July 9, 1990. He was charged with Armed Robbery (2 counts), Kidnapping (2 counts), Felonious Breaking and Entering and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The investigation will be presented to the District Attorney for the determination of the additional charge of Homicide.

Homicide Detectives are continuing their efforts to identify the Black male.  Detectives also believe there is an additional, third suspect that participated in the planning and orchestration of this crime.
