Four Suspects Arrested for Auto Theft

On February 19th, the CMPD Auto Theft Division assisted Hickory Grove Division officers with an investigation into multiple auto thefts. Earlier in the day officers had recovered three stolen vehicles in the area of Vernadale Road. In one incident a witness observed a yellow Ford Mustang picking up several individuals after they had dumped a stolen Honda. This information was broadcast to Hickory Grove patrol units and an alert officer located the yellow Mustang at 6027 Hanna Court.

Auto Theft Detectives responded to the scene and along Hickory Grove officers began a thorough investigation. Car parts from the previously stolen/recovered Hondas were located in the garage and interior of the residence. Those parts were also being installed into other vehicles.

As a result of the investigation four suspects were arrested and charged with numerous felonies. Numerous car parts, tools, a computer, and three vehicles were also seized. The three recovered vehicles were stolen between February 15th and February 18th, 2008.

All four subjects are currently being held at the Mecklenburg County Intake.

Those arrested are:







Jenry Montoya
Charged with felony conspiracy.














Angelo Mejia
Charged with two counts of larceny of vehicle and two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle.














Jose Louis Hernandez
Charged with felony conspiracy and possession of a stolen vehicle.













Miguel Alexandra Hernandez
Charged with felony conspiracy and possession of a stolen vehicle..
