High School Academy

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is looking for a few good teens ... to participate in a one-week, hands-on course for young people who are interested in a career in law enforcement or students who would like to find out more about the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

The next Academy will be held 8 a.m. - 4p.m., July  7-11, 2008 at the Police Training Academy, 1770 Shopton Road.  Deadline for applications is May 19, 2008.

To qualify:

  • Must be entering the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade
  • Must live in Mecklenburg County
  • Must attend a public or private school in Mecklenburg County
  • Must have no serious arrests
  • Must   have no out of school suspensions
  • Must maintain a "C" average or better
  • Must participate in all activities (academic and physical)
