The CMPD Women's Network of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department recognizes there are issues that pertain exclusively to women. The Network will work within the Department to address gender related issues pertaining to recruitment, retention, promotion, and policy.

By offering guidance and support to women police officers at the onset of recruit training, the Network will assist with the professional development of women as they enter and continue in the challenging profession of policing.

The Network will support the academy staff and the Department in recruiting and retaining qualified women in hopes of building a police department that is gender representative of the community it serves.

Firearms training is important for all Charlotte - Mecklenburg Police Officers.

The Network will seek to enhance job satisfaction among women within the policing environment by forming a partnership of police professionals who serve as an on-going resource and information exchange forum as they seek to fulfill the goals of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
