The Alcohol Beverage Control Unit (ABC unit) ensures compliance with all ABC laws and regulations. The ABC unit is responsible for violations of ABC permit holders, their agents, and members of the public. Enforcement action includes criminal prosecution and any administrative proceedings and/or hearings resulting from the police action taken by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
These officers concentrate their efforts on the detection of violations of North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Control Laws and screening prospective new applicants during the ABC application process.
