Special Victim's Division

The Special Victim's Division, commanded by Captain Pete Davis, is a special unit within the Criminal Investigations Bureau that assigns Detectives, Investigative Technicians and Counselors to youth crimes, domestic violence, sexual assault and missing persons cases. The Special Victim's Division is dedicated to providing assistance to all victims through awareness, education, information and resources with respect and dignity victims deserve. We make every effort to provide our services to victims in a compassionate, efficient and just manner. The Special Victim's Division is comprised of three distinctive units.

Youth Crime/Domestic Violence Unit The Youth Crime/Domestic Violence unit will objectively investigate allegations of crimes committed against or by juveniles and those involving domestic violence.
Sexual Assault Unit The Sexual Assault Unit works closely with the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office during an investigation of an adult sexual assault and other sex related offences that falls within the jurisdiction of CMPD.
Missing Persons Unit The Missing Persons Unit is responsible for investigating cases involving missing persons, runaway children and unidentified living or deceased individuals.
