FEBRUARY 21, 1981
The victim was asleep on a couch while her husband and daughter slept upstairs. During the night, the victim woke up to find an unknown male sitting on top of her. The suspect told her he would hurt her if she screamed. He then covered her head and assaulted her. Before the suspect left, he went through the victim's purse and coat.

The suspect was described as a white male with fair skin and a southern accent. He seemed fairly educated and smelled of cigarettes. The suspect in this case is still unknown, but evidence was located and re-submitted for further testing. The DNA obtained was then entered into CODIS.

CRESCENT SERIES - June 1990-May 1997
Four cases linked by DNA but suspect is still unknown at this time. 

These cases all occurred within the same geographic area. The first occurred in June of 1990 on Wakefield Drive and the last case was committed in May of 1997 on Crescent Avenue.  All of these cases involved young white females (early 20's), who were home alone, whose apartments or houses were broken into in the middle of the night.  The suspect while inside forced the victims' at knifepoint to have sex with him.  The suspect either disguised himself by wearing a ski mask or covered the victims' eyes so they would not see him.  Two cases occurred on Emerson Avenue and another on Crescent Avenue. Detectives believe the suspect is a white male who may have had a "pompadour hairstyle" and mustache back in 1990 and may have lived or worked in the Meyers Park Neighborhood.    

ELDERLY CASES - August 1991 - July 2006
Two cases linked by DNA but suspect is still unknown at this time.    

Both of these cases involved elderly female victims who were home alone and their houses were broken into in the middle of the night.  The first occurred  in August of 1991 on Euclid Avenue and the other occurred in July of 2006 on Providence Rd.  The suspect physically and sexually assault the victims while inside their residences. The suspect is described as a black male, late 30's to mid 50's, possibly bald, has few or no teeth, and muscular.  The suspect may be transient, recently released from prison, or recently came back to this area to live.
