What is a Fugitive? A fugitive is any person charged with a crime in North Carolina and flees to another state unlawfully to avoid arrest or prosecution. The same criteria apply to a person who is charged with a crime in another state and flees to North Carolina to avoid arrest or prosecution. Consider the case of a person who committed a crime-say, armed robbery in Ohio and is already formally charged in Ohio, either by indictment or by the issuance of an arrest warrant there, this person is considered a fugitive once he is discovered in North Carolina.
If you have knowledge or know the current whereabouts of a fugitive, please contact Detective R. Stevenson at 704-336-2379 or by e-mail. Any information (i.e. Friends, family, acquaintances) that leads to the arrest of a known fugitive could result in a monetary reward.
