Detectives John Kyle and James Snider are assigned to investigate bank robberies in the City of Charlotte and in the unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County. Detectives Kyle and Snider are members of the Safe Streets Task Force.
The Safe Streets Task Force is a partnership between the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation where joint investigations of bank robberies are conducted. These joint investigations allow the local expertise of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to be combined with some of the resources available from the F.B.I. Detectives Sanders and Snider also partnership with other police agencies inside, and outside of Mecklenburg County in order to solve cases that sometimes cross jurisdictional lines.
In addition to the bank robbery investigations, Detectives Kyle and Snider conduct bank robbery crime prevention seminars for any bank branches, or credit union branches that request the training. The seminars are free and cover:
-
The physical security of the branch.
-
What to do in the event a bank robbery takes place
-
What branch employees can expect with respect to the response from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.
