Cold Case # 19980403104501
Victim: Anthony Terrell Dawkins
Age: 27/ Black Male
Location: 3539 Wilkinson Boulevard, Charlotte, NC Parking Lot of Wilson Lewith Textile Machinery Company
Date of Homicide: 04-03-1998

Summary:

Anthony Terrell Dawkins was a black male who was 27 years of age at the time of his death. He had no criminal record. He had been working for about one month on the third shift at Best in Plastics Corporation, Gastonia NC. Some equipment had gone down and the victim volunteered to leave early.  He was considered a good employee. Anthony was single and resided in Blacksburg SC with his mother. On Friday, April 3, 1998 at 10:40 AM the victim was discovered in the parking lot of Wilson Lewith Company located at 3539 Wilkinson Boulevard. The Victim's car was used in an armed robbery of Petro Express located at  605 Clanton Road, on 4/3/98 approximately 20 minutes before victim's body was discovered. Victim: Geneva Alexandria Smith

Date of Homicide: Reported missing on 01-24-1991. Victim located 03-06-1991

Summary:

The victim was a 19 year old female who lived off of Nations Ford Road and was known to frequent the Grier Heights neighborhood. She was last seen wearing an acid wash corduroy top and jeans. The victim was 5'6" and weighed 150 pounds. The victim was reported missing on January 24, 1991. She was last seen leaving her residence on Edgegreen Dr. in a vehicle occupied by a known male acquaintance. This was the last time Geneva was seen or heard from. Her boyfriend noted that she had gotten a phone call at 2:00PM. The victim told him that she was going to Gastonia. Her body was found on March 6, 1991 off Hwy 21 Business, Fort Mill, SC by employees who worked for a tree service company.   Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Cold Case Homicide Squad.

Cold Case # 1972-6573
Victim:  Sylvia Newman Gregory
Age: 22 / White Female
Location: Highway 160, near Fort Mill, SC, one and a half miles below the city limit sign.
Date of Homicide:  04-18-1972

Summary:

The victim is a female who was 22 years old at the time she was kidnapped (date of birth 7/28/49).  She was 5'7", approximately 135 pounds, light brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes.  The victim was home alone at the time of her abduction. When her husband arrived home he found the door on their trailer ajar and could not locate the victim. There were signs of a struggle.  He then reported her disappearance to the police. Sylvia was apparently abducted from her trailer at approximately 2200 hours on 4/18/72.  Her remains were located on 10/10/73 in woods off of Highway 160 west of Fort Mill, SC. Date of Homicide:  Feb. 07, 1992

Summary:

On Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1992 at about 7:44 am officers responded to a report by a relative of a death at 3101 Faye St. Apt. 10.  A relative said they spoke to the victim earlier that morning on the telephone but later, when dropping a child off for babysitting, found her dead. Cold Case # 1974-02804
Victim:  Flay David Willis
Age: 25/ White Male
Location: I-85 South Catawba River Bridge (Rest Area)
Date of Homicide: 02-09-1974

Summary:

On Saturday February 9, 1974 at about 3:20AM. the Mecklenburg County Police Department received a call a person had been assaulted in the restroom of the rest area on the southbound side of I-85 at the Catawba River Bridge.  The victim was found in the bathroom area suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported by South Point Ambulance Service to Charlotte Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim was an electrician and normally worked from 7:00 am-4:30 pm. Immediately prior to his death, he had been at Paul's Lounge located at 3441 South Blvd, Charlotte.  He owned a 1972 Chevrolet, NC Tag DWM-389, that was recovered at the scene. Victim: Mendel Lee Morris

Location: 3011 Georgia Avenue, Charlotte NC
Date of Homicide:  10-03-1982

Summary:

On Sunday, October 3, 1982 at approximately 3:10 PM, Mr. Mendel Lee Morris was found dead of an apparent gun shot wound at 3011 Georgia Avenue. He was 56 years old at the time of his death. Victim: Anthony Scott Williams

Summary:

Mr. Williams was initially reported missing by his roommate on September 19, 2000. He was last seen September 18, 2000. On September 20, 2000 he was found deceased in a vehicle at a warehouse parking lot near the airport at 4900 West Blvd. Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Cold Case Homicide Squad.

Victim: Jacklyn White Adsit
Age: 39/ White Female
Location: 1114-D Tom Hunter Rd, Charlotte NC
Date of Homicide: 04-23-1997

Summary:
 
At the time of the victim's death she was living with her husband and small child on Tom Hunter Road. The victim was 39 years old. The crime was reported when a neighbor saw smoke coming from the building and called the fire department. It appears the victim was murdered inside her residence and the apartment was set on fire to conceal the crime. There is evidence the assailant(s) forced his way into the apartment.  The victim was located in her bed and some of her personal belongings are missing.  Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Cold Case Homicide Squad.


Cold Case #19991018-024600

 Michelle Patrice Alexander
Age: 21 / Black Female
Location:, 1300 Block of Woodlawn Rd by Park Road Shopping Center, Charlotte, NC
Date of Homicide:  10-18-1999

Summary:

On October 3, 1999 at about 9:46 AM Michelle was riding home from the Street Lights night club behind Park Road Shopping Center. She was with several other friends. A white SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango, pulled up next to them at a red light at Park Road and Woodlawn Road. Both vehicles were headed West on Woodlawn. A black male on the passenger side of the SUV was attempting to talk to the people in the victim's vehicle. The driver of the victim's vehicle pulled away when the light changed to green. Occupants of the victims vehicle heard a loud pop and realized Michelle was shot and turned into a neighborhood for help. Michelle was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where she later died.
