CMPD Special Olympics Schedule of Events

           This year we are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the following events to benefit Special Olympics of North Carolina:

Golf Tournament -  A Captain's Choice golf tournament is being held on Monday, August 18, at the beautiful Cowan's Ford Country Club.  Teams of four will compete for fun and prizes on one of N.C.'s most challenging courses.

Tip-a-Cop (Dixie's Tavern)- Police Department employees will work as guest servers at Dixie's Tavern (301 E. 7th St.) on April 10, 11, & 12.

Tip-a-Cop (Sonny's BBQ)-  Police Department employees will work as guest servers at all 3 Charlotte area Sonny's BBQ restaurants on April 25 & May 23.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for SONC-  Law Enforcement Officers from agencies in and around Mecklenburg county will carry the Torch from the Uptown Square to the Cabarrus county line on Tuesday May 20.

Charlotte's Finest Duathlon-  A duathlon will take place at the Police Academy, 1770 Shopton Road, on Saturday May 31.  This is a competitive event that consists of a 5K run followed by a 10 mile bike followed again by a 5K run.  Registrations are in local bike, running, and athletic stores.

Knights Baseball- CMPD is selling tickets to the Knights home baseball game on Sunday afternoon June 15.  Half the ticket price goes to SONC.

Cop-On-Top-  A police officer will stay atop the Chick-Fil-A of University Place, 8648 JW Clay Blvd., from June 25 through June 28 in an effort to raise funds from patrons and sponsors.  This event will be accompanied by many giveaways from Chick-Fil-A.

Tour de Force-  2nd annual offering of this bike tour through northern Mecklenburg county and into southern Iredell county covering 45 miles.  All caliber of riders are welcome.  This event will take place on Sunday August 3.
