Crime Story:
The defendant and a girlfriend moved into a new apartment together.  The two had dated for several years.  One month before the victim was murdered, she told the defendant he needed to move out of the apartment.  After the defendant moved, the began to verbally threaten the victim.  Approximately one week prior to her death, the defendant came to the victim's apartment and forced his way inside by kicking open the front door.

On April 6, 1993, the victim returned home from a date with another man.  Several hours later her vehicle was located abandoned near the apartment complex.  The police were contacted and went to the victim['s apartment.  The victim was found dead laying on the floor.  She had been stabbed eight times.

Twenty-four hours later the defendant turned himself into police.  The defendant never did confess.  This was principally a forensic evidence and circumstantial case.
