Crime Story:
On February 25, 1994, Martin Russell and the victim were arguing over fifty dollars in the parking lot at 1700 Fleetwood Drive.  According to Russell's statement to the police, the victim tried to pull a gun on him but he pulled his own weapon and shot the victim before the victim could shoot him.  When the victim fell to the ground Russell picked up the victim's wallet and ran from the scene.  He was picked up by a friend who did not know what had just happened.

As Russell was being picked up several police cars pulled in behind them and after a short while Russell jumped from the car and ran.  He was apprehended by officers after a short foot chase.  The victim died as a result of the gun shot wounds he received during the argument.

Russell was tried and convicted of Second Degree Murder and sentenced to LIFE in prison.
