Crime Story
On the 15th of September 1993, Christopher Draughon drove Angela Tarlton's boyfriend, Robert Peterson, and Anthony Simpson to her grandfather's residence during the early morning hours. Chris Draughon had given his shotgun to them before they arrived at the victim's residence. Draughon waited in the car while Robert Peterson and Anthony Simpson walked to the victim's residence. They knocked on the door to the residence. When the victim came to the door, they shot him in the head with a sawed off 12-gage shotgun.

The victim's ex-wife discovered him that morning lying on the front porch dead. Angela Tarlton, Robert Peterson, Chris Draughon, and another subject had recently been evicted from the house they had been living in. Tarlton asked Robert Peterson if he and his friend would kill her grandfather. She told them that they could rob him then kill him so no one could identify them.

Tarlton knew that her grandfather always carried a large amount of money with him and they needed the money since they had been evicted. Tarlton stayed in the motel room they had rented, while Robert Peterson and the other subjects went over to her grandfather's residence to kill him with the intent to rob him. They were unable to get any money from him. At the time of his death, the victim had five thousand dollars in his wallet.

Robert Peterson plead guilty to second-degree murder. He was sentenced to serve fifty years in prison.
