Crime Story: 

On July 17, 1991, the victims, James Kirkpatrick, Brian Kirkpatrick and Barry Kirkpatrick were denied entry to the Leather and Lace night club located at 4205 Monroe Road in Charlotte, NC. Shortly thereafter, a verbal confrontation escalated into a physical confrontation near the front entrance and James Kirkpatrick, Barry Kirkpatrick and Brian Kirkpatrick were shot by the manager, Clarence Richardson.

Barry Kirkpatrick and Brian Kirkpatrick were found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the upper chest area near the front door, and James Kirkpatrick had been shot be he was still alive. All three victims were brothers. Barry and Brian Kirkpatrick died from their gunshot wounds, but James Kirkpatrick survived.

Clarence Richardson confessed to shooting all three victims with a 45 caliber handgun. Richardson was found guilty of second degree murder on two counts and AWDWWITKISI by a jury trial in Mecklenburg County, Charlotte, NC. He was sentenced to Life in prison.
