Crime Story
On the 28th of July 1983, the victim, his family and a tenant were at the table eating when Charles Rhodes walked into the resident armed with a gun. He announced his intent to kill them all. He then shot the victim in the head. The tenant jumped up and wrestled Rhodes to the ground. He held him down until the police arrived on the scene. Rhodes told the police that he had been hired to kill everyone in the house. Rhodes lived next door to the victim and his family.

Charles Rhodes pled guilty to second-degree murder. He was sentenced to serve life in prison.
