Crime Story
On the 23rd of November 1985, the victim was asleep in bed when her boyfriend got up and briefly left the room. She awoke when someone entered the room. When she asked if it was her boyfriend, Planter said "no" and jumped on top of her. He covered her mouth with his hand to keep her from screaming and attempted to rape her.

She struggled with him until they fell off the bed. After they struggled some more on the floor, the suspect left the room. Her boyfriend came back to the room and found her crying. He found Planter in the hallway of the boarding house and confronted him. 

Planter was apprehended on the scene. He was found guilty of first-degree burglary and attempted second-degree rape. He was sentenced to 40 year in prison for first-degree burglary consecutively to 10 years in prison for attempted second-degree rape.
