Crime Story
On October 13, 1992 the victim got into a verbal altercation with Kevin Walsh.  Walsh had been told that the victim had signed some papers on him at the police station concerning his drug activities.  Walsh approached Steven Govan to solicit a hit on the victim for $5000.  That evening, Walsh showed Govan where the victim lived.

On the evening of October 14, 1992, Steven Govan, John Howie and Brian Law drove to the victim's apartment.  Govan waited with the vehicle at a designated spot until the hit was completed.  John Howie and Brian Law found the apartment door open, entered and found the victim asleep in his bed.  They shot him in the head, and exited the apartment and ran into the nearby woods.

Earlier on the evening of October 14, 1992, the victim had spoken briefly to this girlfriend and kissed her goodnight.  He fell asleep shortly afterwards.  His girlfriend went next door to visit a neighbor.  She had been at her neighbors' apartment for only a short time when she heard a gunshot and her storm door rattling.  She entered her apartment to find the victim lying on the bed with a gunshot would to the head.  A medic pronounced him dead on the scene.

The next day, October 15, 1992, Kevin Walsh consulted with Steven Govan and found that the hit had been completed.  Kevin Walsh pad Govan the $5000.

Kevin Walsh was convicted to second-degree murder.  He was sentenced to serve 50 years in prison.  Steven Govan pled to second-degree murder.  He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.  John Lewis Howie and Brian Arnell Law pled to second-degree murder.  They were both sentenced to LIFE in prison.
