Crime Story
On November 15, 1992 Anthony L Hemphill went to the home of the victim, his cousin.  Hemphill sat on the front porch and waited for his cousin to return home because his cousin owed him some money.  The cousins were members of a drug gang called the "Lakewood Boys".  The victim owed his cousin money as a result of a drug deal.

When the victim arrived Hemphill shot the victim three times in front of several witnesses. He fled the scene but because he was well known he was easily identified as the suspect.  He surrendered to officers several blocks from the scene.  Hemphill admitted to shooting his cousin at the police department when he was confronted by the victim's mother.  His cousin died from the gunshot wounds.

Hemphill pled guilty to Second Degree Murder as part of a plea arrangement and was sentenced to life in prison.
