Crime Story:
On June 30, 1990, Rodney Hamrick, his younger brother and three other friends were consuming alcohol in a parking lot near LaSalle Streets and Beatties Ford Road.  Rodney's younger brother knew of a man and a woman sleeping in a van parked near the corner.  The brother asked Rodney if he wanted to have some fun and he agreed.  Both walked up to the van and Rodney's brother pointed a pistol at the male inside the van and told him to open the door.

The brother entered the van where a female victim was forced to have oral sex with him.  The male victim attempted to get out of the van and walk away stating he needed to go to the bathroom.  Rodney Hamrick approached the male victim from behind and shot him once in the back.  The male victim died at the scene.  Both Rodney and his brother fled the scene.

Rodney Hamrick pled to Second Degree Murder and received 50 years for his crime.
