CRIME STORY:
James Theodore Friday and the victim has been a couple for approximately nine years.  Friday lived in Newton NC and would spend weekends at the victim's house on Capps Hill Mine Road.  During the month of October 1993, Friday had become jealous and paranoid about the possibility that the victim was seeing someone else.

On the night of October 30, 1993, while they were in bed together Friday confronted the victim about the possibility of her seeing another man.  The victim advised him that she did not want to talk about it.  Friday then reached for a 380 semi automatic weapon he had on the night stand and shot the victim twice.

Friday got up, packed his clothes and his car and when he returned to the bedroom the victim told him that she was hurting and suffering.  He then told her he would put her out of her misery and shot her again in the stomach.  The victim persuaded Friday to then call 911 and after he did he left and went home to Newton NC.

The victim was transported to the hospital and later died.  Friday confessed to the crime and plead guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
