Crime Story
On October 31, 1981 Halloween night, Michael Edward Fincher and Terry Jerome Wright disguised as trick-or-treaters and went to 1022 McAlway Road Apt. F in Charlotte. Fincher knocked on the front day and said "trick-or-treat." When the victim opened the front door to offer Fincher and Wright some candy, Fincher along with Wright forced entry into the victim's home.

Fincher assaulted, raped and strangled the victim to death. He then joined Wright in looking for valuables in the apartment.  Fincher took jewelry and Wright took money from the victim's apartment before leaving the scene of the crime.

Fincher and Wright were arrested for Murder, Rape and Burglary. Fincher and Wright both admitted to taking part in the Burglary which led to the rape and murder of the victim. Fincher pled guilty to Murder First Degree and Burglary First Degree. He received a sentence of life in prison plus 50 years. Wright received 36 years for the First Degree Burglary, but wasn't convicted on the Murder or Rape charges.
