Crime Story
On the 27th of July 1979, the victim left his home in a Volkswagen to collect insurance debits from his customers. He would usually return home in the evening around 10 P.M. William Cohen was arrested at about 2 A.M. on the 28th July 1979 for the larceny of a moped. Arresting officers discovered a wallet on Cohen containing a driver's license and credit cards belonging to the victim. When questioned about the wallet, Cohen advised that the wallet belonged to his brother-in-law. Arresting officers discovered that Cohen was lying to them after contacting the victim's wife who was worried because her husband had not returned home from his work. Arresting officers then put out an APB on the victim and his Volkswagen. The body of the victim was discovered the next morning at about 5 A.M., by a security guard in the parking lot of a business out in the county.

The cause of death was determined to be stab wounds that penetrated the heart and the lung. A witness advised police that Cohen had used the victim's credit card to purchase gas on the evening of the 27th of July 1979. The victim's Volkswagen was found on the 28th of July 1979 in a wrecker service parking lot. A key found on Cohen fit the ignition to Dixon's Volkswagen. Cohen's prints were also found on Dixon's Volkswagen.

A jury found William Cohen guilty of First Degree Murder. He was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.
