Crime Story
On August 25, 1978, Whalen Clark forced entry into the victim's apartment located at 920 McAlway Road in Charlotte. The victim was asleep in her bedroom alone and didn't hear Clark enter. Once inside the apartment, Clark entered the victim's bedroom and raped her. Before fleeing the scene Clark removed a 19-inch color Panasonic Television from the victim's apartment which belonged to the victim's roommate.

After positive identification by the victim, Whalen Clark was arrested for First Degree Rape and First Degree Burglary. Clark was convicted of Second Degree Rape, First Degree Burglary and Felony Larceny.
