Crime Story:
According to a witness who was riding around Cornelius with Nieem Carr on 02-06-1994, they approached the victim who was walking in the 19000 block of School St. and Nieem stopped the vehicle.  The victim walked up to the passenger side of the vehicle and Nieem motioned for him to come over to the driver's side.  The victim walked around the vehicle to the driver's side and when he leaned down to talk to Carr, Nieem Carr shot him in the head for no apparent reason.  The victim fell backward into the street and Carr drove away. 

 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.  Carr was charged with first degree murder but pled to second degree and received 42 years in prison.
