Crime Story
On the 12th of August 1980, Lester Barnett, Rickey Barnett and Carl Anthony Wilder entered a convenient store on Nations Ford Road with the intent to rob the store. Lester Barnett walked up to the counter and asked for a pack of Kools. The clerk turned around to get the pack of Kools from the shelf behind him. As he turned back around with the pack of Kools, Lester Barnett shot him in the chest. Rickey Barnett walked around the counter and shot the clerk several more times. 

Carl Wilder was keeping watch outside the store. He fired a shotgun at a customer who had just exited the store. They took the cash from the register and left in a vehicle parked behind the store. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Lester Barnett, Rickey Barnett and Carl Wilder were found guilty of First Degree Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. They were sentenced to serve LIFE in prison.
