CATS' goal with STSII is to provide transportation to people with disabilities to, from, and within the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Mint Hill and the unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County.

What is STSII?

STSII is an expansion of the Charlotte Area Transit System's (CATS), Special Transportation Service (STS).  STSII is not required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), so the service operates differently than CATS regular STS service.  STSII is provided as capacity allows.  Ride requests that meet the requirements of the ADA take priority over STSII rides.

Who can use STSII?

Anyone who has been certified to use STS is eligible to use STSII. If you have not applied for STS certification, you may do so by completing an application

What is the fare to use STSII?

Only STS tickets can be used on STSII.  CATS passes or cash are not accepted.  All fares are for one way only and are based on mileage.

STSII Fare Structure

1 – 5 Miles 1 STS Ticket
5 – 10 Miles 2 STS Tickets
10 – 15 Miles 3 STS Tickets
15 to 20 Miles 5 STS Tickets
20 Mile Plus 10 STS Tickets

When does STSII operate?

STSII operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM.  STSII does not operate on weekends or holidays.
