Background
The Mallard Creek Park and Ride opened in March 2006, as the first CATS- owned park and ride facility in the City of Charlotte.The project site is located on J.N. Pease Place, just northeast of the intersection of Mallard Creek Rd. and W.T. The new facility replaces the temporary park and ride lot at Solectron Drive and IBM Drive.

- Serves as a central point of transportation for University area travel as well as commuter travel from the UNCC area to Uptown Charlotte
- Providing a safe and comfortable facility to use and transfer on CATS routes 22, 29, 54X, and 81X
- The 3.0 acre site has a total of 204 parking spaces.
- Environmentally-friendly design includes a raingarden system that collects, stores, and filtrates stormwater runoff to replenish groundwater.
- Includes a driver comfort station, covered and secure bicycle parking, passenger shelters, and lighting
- Up-to-date schedule and service information
- On-site surveillance during transit service hours
- Public art integrated into the design of the facility
