CATS and CMPD are actively working together to create a safe and secure public transportation system for all current and future transit customers in the Charlotte region.

Both agencies are using all available resources to prevent real and perceived criminal activity at transit facilities, on transit vehicles and in areas around transit stops.

Strategies and procedures developed under this partnership include:

1. Identifying resources and services to ensure a safe and secure design of all transit facilities, stops and amenities.

2. Analyzing safety and security data to best use resources to meet the safety needs of the transit system.

3. Implementing programs to inform customers, CATS and CMPD personnel of transit safety and security measures.
