Can I purchase a ticket from a LYNX ticket vending machine and use it to ride the Charlotte Trolley?

Yes.  Any ticket purchased from the LYNX ticket vending machines (TVMs) is valid on the Charlotte Trolley provided the date and time have not expired.  Please note that only LYNX Blue Line stations have ticket vending machines. Trolley only stations, located at 9th St., Morehead St., Tremont and Atherton Mill do not have ticket vending machines.

Can I use a CATS pass to ride the Charlotte Trolley?

Yes.  CATS monthly or weekly passes are valid on board the Charlotte Trolley.  Ten-ride passes, STS yellow tickets and ADA red tickets are not valid on the trolley.

Can I transfer from a CATS bus or LYNX train to the Charlotte Trolley?

Yes.  If you have a bus transfer, you may use it aboard the Charlotte Trolley as long as the date and time have not expired.  CATS' bus transfers expire after 90 minutes.  If you have purchased a LYNX ticket from a TVM, you may also use that aboard the trolley, provided the day and time have not expired.

Can I pay with cash on the Charlotte Trolley? 

Yes.  There are fareboxes on board each trolley vehicle.  Please remember to bring exact change.  The trolley operator cannot make change.

If I use cash to pay for my ride aboard the Charlotte Trolley and want to transfer to a CATS bus or LYNX train, do I have to pay again?

No, when boarding the trolley, ask the operator for a transfer.  The transfer is valid for a ride on a CATS bus or the LYNX Blue Line for 90 minutes from the time indicated on the front of the trolley transfer.  If you transfer to a higher-priced service, you will be asked to pay the difference.

Can I use a Charlotte Trolley token to ride the trolley or LYNX?

No. They are not valid on any CATS service and do not work in LYNX Ticket Vending Machines (TVMS).
