A Healthy Mode of Transportation

Walking to work or school may be the last thing on many people’s mind, but it’s a great way to get where you want to go. It’s cheap, causes no harm to the environment and, best of all, it’s good for you. With the many sidewalks and crosswalks in the area, getting around on foot is easy and safe.

Put Safety First
When walking, take the following precautions:

  • Always walk on the sidewalk.
  • If there is not a sidewalk, walk on the left side of the street facing traffic.
  • Wear bright colors.
  • Don’t walk at night. 
  • Use crosswalks.
  • Look both ways before crossing the street, even at crosswalks.
  • Don’t cross the street between parked cars because drivers may not see you.

So now that you know the benefits and safety measures, avoid the craziness of rush hour traffic by lacing up your shoes and going for a stroll. Take the healthy approach and improve your well-being as well as the environment’s.
