Mallard Creek Park and Ride Lot

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is aware that the Mallard Creek Park and Ride lot is at capacity, and we are working to remedy the situation.  For the near term, CATS is working with business owners in the area in an effort to secure leased parking for CATS customers.  Longer term, CATS is negotiating with owners of adjacent property in an effort to eventually expand the existing lot capacity.

While these efforts are going on, CATS would like to ask customers of 54X URP Express to refrain from parking in the cul-de-sac near the Mallard Creek Park and Ride lot.  Keeping the cul-de-sac  free of cars will help the CATS bus operators to safely turn on J.N. Pease Drive.  Parking on J.N. Pease is still permissible, as long as the cars are not in the cul-de-sac. 

In the next few weeks, Charlotte Department of Transportation will erect no parking signs that will be posted in the cul-de-sac on J.N. Pease Drive.  Until those signs are posted, we ask that 54X customers voluntarily refrain from parking in the cul-de-sac so that the bus can safely maneuver in the area.
