South Blvd/I-485 LYNX Station Parking Update

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is pleased to inform you construction of additional parking spaces at the I-485/South Blvd. LYNX Blue Line Transit Station is moving forward as scheduled.  To date the following items have been installed:

    •    Storm drainage  

    •    Planting median curb 

    •    90 percent of the parking lot curb/gutter 

    •    Base pedestals for light poles within the parking lot 

The last segment of curb/gutter on the west side of the parking lot will be installed this week.  Driveway construction will commence thereafter.  Fine grading of the lot will begin next with stone placement being one of the final construction aspects before completion.  The contractor is on schedule to finish the construction within the next six weeks, depending on weather.

The 85 parking spaces are scheduled to open in late April.
