Public Meeting
Routes 41x, 54x, 80x, 82x, 83x, 85x, and 88x
On Thursday, November 20, 2008, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will hold a public meeting to discuss a proposal to provide a more direct service and time saving outbound service for the evening trips on Routes 41x Arrowood, 54x University Research Park, 80x Concord, 82x Rock Hill, 83x Mooresville, 85x Gastonia, and 88x Lincoln County. If implemented as proposed, these changes would go into effect on February 2, 2009. This meeting is open house format, and thus you can drop in anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to speak to a CATS representative.
If implemented as proposed, the outbound evening trips on Routes 41x, and 54x, would begin at 4th and McDowell, and would operate on 4th St. to the Charlotte Transportation Center, right on College St., and left on Trade St. and continue its current outbound routing to I-77. Passengers utilizing Routes 41X and 54X in the evenings would access these routes at bus stops at the following streets: 4th & McDowell, 4th & Davidson, the Charlotte Transportation Center, Trade & Tryon, Trade & Church, Trade & N. Pine, Trade, & Graham, the Uptown Gateway Center, and Trade & Sycamore.
If implemented as proposed, the outbound evening trips on Routes 80x, 82x, 83x, 85x, and 88x would begin at 4th & McDowell, would operate on 4th St., right on Poplar St., and left on Trade St. and continue the current outbound routing. Passengers utilizing the evening trips on Routes 80x, 82x, 83x, 85x, and 88x would access these routes at bus stops along the following streets: 4th & McDowell, 4th & Davidson, the Charlotte Transportation Center, 4th & Tryon, W. Trade & N. Pine, Trade & Graham, the Uptown Gateway Center, and Trade & Sycamore.
If the adjustment is implemented as proposed, outbound afternoon trips on Routes 41x, 54x, 80x, 83x, 85x and 88x would not loop via Church, Stonewall and College.
